The Truth in Truth and Reconciliation Educational Board Game: For Elementary & Middle School is an age-appropriate learning resource that explores the history and impact of colonization on Indigenous Peoples in Canada.

Thoughtfully adapted from the original game of the same name, this edition preserves the integrity of the original while ensuring young learners receive a thoughtful, age-appropriate experience.

The game offers three unique game-play scenarios tailored for Grades 3-4, Grades 5-6, and Grades 7-8.

It features three distinct decks of truth and consequence cards, a reversible board, and dedicated rules and curriculum for each grade group.

Through collaborative play, students work together to navigate challenges, reinforcing key lessons on interconnectedness, community and working together. The game includes a pre-colonial map that slowly changes throughout the gameplay to demonstrate the effects of colonization, and show the diversity of different Indigenous communities across Turtle Island.

Developed in collaboration with Indigenous educators, this invaluable resource serves as a vital tool for classrooms, educators, and allies committed to Truth and Reconciliation.

The Educational Board Game creator, James Darin Corbiere (Waabi Makoohns, Bear Clan) was born and raised in Wii kwem koong, Ontario, on “Da Rez”. James is a childhood church trauma survivor, who became a peace keeper (police officer) and later, an Indigenous language teacher. He combines his knowledge of colonial systems and his lived experience with his artwork to create a way in which others can bear witness to the effects and impacts of colonialism, and its impact on Indigenous people in Canada.
